Considering that notable progresses have been made in the studies of gravitation, astrophysics and cosmology among BRICS countries in the past decades, the BRICS Association on Gravity, Astrophysics and Cosmology (BRICS-AGAC) was established at the end of 2016 to promote further collaborations between the member countries. In the first symposium of BRICS-AGAC, many international renowned colleagues gathered in Yangzhou University to share their important results and achievements in theoretical and observational studies in gravity, astrophysics and cosmology. Through the discussions among the participants, it is hoped that more discoveries would soon be made, and more collaborations forged.
