The New York Times reported on the study of wormholes by Professor De-Chang Dai

Professor Dechang Dai in CGC and his collaborator Professor Dejan Stojkovic recently found that the gravitational effects from the other side of a wormhole can affect the orbits of nearby stars. Professor Dai’s research tell us how to determine if there are wormholes in a black hole in the future (i.e. to distinguish between black holes and wormhokles), as observation data become more abundant and accurate.

Professor Dai's paper, [De-Chang Dai, Dejan Stojkovic, “Observing a Wormhole”, Phys. Rev. D 100 (2019) 083513] was published in PRD, one of the leading international journals on gravity, particle physics and field theory, as well as cosmology. Due to its novelty, and the fact that wormholes have always been a subject that the public is interested in, the work was featured in The New York Times on November 13, 2019.

Subsequently, Prof. Dai published two more follow-up works: "A sensitive search for wormholes" [Phys. Rev. D 104 (2021) 081502], and "How to form a wormhole" [Eur. Phys. J. C 80 (2020) 1103].
